Tremendous progress was made in Hawai’i through the Global Island Partnership at the Pacific Island Conference of Leaders and the IUCN World Conservation Congress including new leadership and membership announcements, new initiatives launched as well as progress of island leaders to sustainable commitments shared each helping to accelerate momentum to our vision to build resilient and sustainable island communities.
The Global Island Partnership efforts were spearheaded by H.E. Tommy E. Remengesau Jr., President of Palau, one of the four GLISPA Leaders; H.E. Hersey Kyota, Palau’s Ambassador to the United States and H.E. Olai Uludong, Palau’s Ambassador to Europe as well as The Hon. Dr. Kedrick Pickering of the British Virgin Islands each on the GLISPA Steering Committee.
